The Story Behind Ivy Reborns: How My Daughter Inspired It All
🌿 Why I Named My Business Ivy Reborns
In 2022, my daughter Ivy was just four years old and absolutely obsessed with reborn dolls. Like many little ones, she would spend hours watching reborn doll videos on YouTube — captivated by their lifelike features, tiny outfits, and the gentle routines of feeding, cuddling, and caring for them.
As a mum, I saw how much joy these dolls brought her. But I also noticed something else: reborn dolls were expensive. Every time I looked for one she could actually hold and love, the prices were just too high. There weren’t many options for affordable reborns that still felt special. And that’s where it all started.
🍼 The Very First Baby
With Ivy’s encouragement (and relentless enthusiasm!), I decided to give it a try. I created my very first reborn doll — a sweet little girl named Lacey — and put her up for sale on Etsy in April 2022.
To my surprise, she sold quickly. Then another. And another. Before I knew it, what started as a way to make Ivy’s dream come true had turned into something much bigger — a growing community of collectors and carers who shared the same love for reborn dolls.
🌸 A Name That Means Everything
Choosing a name for the shop was easy. Ivy had been the heart of this entire journey — from inspiring the first doll to helping me pack orders, choose outfits, and test dummies. Her love for reborns was pure and honest, and I wanted that same feeling to live in every part of the business.
So I named it Ivy Reborns — not just after her, but as a reminder of how something small and beautiful can grow into something meaningful, just like a vine of ivy.
Funnily enough, some people assume that I’m the one named Ivy — but it’s actually my youngest daughter! Ivy has been the heart and soul behind this journey from the very beginning, which is why I named the business after her.
💖 Why I Do What I Do
What I love most about Ivy Reborns is being able to offer affordable reborns to families, collectors, and carers who might not otherwise be able to afford one. Every doll is carefully put together with love and intention — whether it’s a cuddly baby girl, a cheeky toddler, or a fantasy Avatar with a touch of magic.
Ivy is now 7, and she’s still my biggest fan and my best helper. She’s watched this grow from an idea to a full-time business, and I hope one day she’ll look back knowing she was the reason it all began.
The image featured in this blog is of Lacey — the very first reborn baby I ever sold. She holds a special place in the heart of Ivy Reborns and will always be where this journey began.
